Abstract: The student financial aid system in Chinese universities has evolved from a singular planned model to a diverse and eventually developmental model,focusing increasingly on the agency of the beneficiaries and the diversity of the aid content.This system aims to enhance the empowerment value of financial aid in education,playing a significant role in ensuring educational equity and interrupting the intergenerational transmission of poverty,thus supporting poverty alleviation efforts.However,deficiencies still exist in the aid recognition process,value orientation,and operational mechanisms.Universities should explore the establishment of a multi-level and multi-dimensional target system for financial aid in education,expand a diversified aid recognition system,and create an efficient and sustainable operational mechanism as they build a new pathway for the implementation of a modern development-oriented financial aid system.
