Abstract: Higher education institutions bear the mission of cultivating talent for the Party and the country, and ideological and political education is of paramount importance in university education.This paper discusses the necessity of integrating ideological and political education into the microbial pharmacology course, exploring methods to incorporate ideological and political education elements into teaching, such as textbook analysis, classroom integration, and the introduction of historical figures’ deeds.By adding ideological and political education content that is typically lacking in traditional courses, the teaching outcomes show that students’ ideological awareness and cultural quality have been enhanced.
