Abstract:
Xue Yu is a renowned pharmaceutical educator in modern China, whose study abroad experience in pharmacy reflects a high degree of alignment between global trends and personal choices. From his return to China before the founding of the People's Republic of China to the post-1949 period, his pharmaceutical educational philosophy, though influenced by the French,German, and Soviet models, emphasized adaptation to China's national conditions. He critically reflected on the shortcomings of foreign pharmaceutical education and sought to adjust and reform China's pharmaceutical education, thereby pioneering new directions. From imitation to autonomy and finally to innovation,Xue Yu,as a representative figure in China's transitional era of medical education, exemplifies the difficult exploration and original spirit of Chinese intellectuals in learning western thoughts and cultures.Analyzing Xue Yu's educational philosophy and practices provides valuable insights for contemporary pharmaceutical education in China.
