Abstract:
Against the backdrop of the digital transformation driven by the integration of “biopharmaceuticals+AI” and with the continuous development of emerging fields such as gene therapy, vaccines, and advanced medical devices, the demand for talent in China’s biopharmaceutical industry has undergone significant changes. The survey reveals that talent demand in Shanghai’s biopharmaceutical sector is exhibiting new trends of high-level specialization, digitalization, and internationalization, with evolving job requirements and competency structures. However, challenges remain, including the limited number of higher vocational institutions offering biopharmaceutical-related programs, insufficient development of emerging specialties, and high attrition rates among secondary vocational graduates. This paper proposes recommendations for talent cultivation in Shanghai’s biopharmaceutical industry from three perspectives: educational pathways, dynamic curriculum adjustment, and the development of interdisciplinary talent.
