Abstract
This study examines the employment outcomes of undergraduate graduates in Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) from a pharmaceutical university during the 2021—2023 period, using empirical analysis methods. The findings reveal that the average rate of further education among graduates exceeded 55%,indicating a strong inclination toward academic advancement. The average employment rate surpassed 95%,reflecting a high level of market demand for graduates. The employment sectors are diverse, with enterprises as the dominant destination, particularly state-owned enterprises, joint ventures, and other business entities.A considerable proportion of graduates are engaged in pharmacy-related occupations, while relatively fewer are employed in roles directly related to TCM.Employment is primarily concentrated in the economically developed eastern regions of China. These findings suggest that universities should proactively align talent cultivation strategies with national policies and socioeconomic development needs.Measures such as differentiated training models, incorporation of enterprise-based faculty, enhanced education in innovation and entrepreneurship, and the development of interdisciplinary curricula are essential for improving the effectiveness and societal relevance of TCM talent cultivation.
