Implications of Competency-based Education Model on Pharmaceutical Practice

  • Pharmaceutical internship is an important component in which students apply theoretical knowledge to practice and enhance their comprehensive qualities.Currently, there are issues such as improper curriculum integration, lack of cultivation of comprehensive abilities in internships, and the simplification of assessment mechanism, which have led to the need for improvement in the quality of pharmaceutical internship practices. The competency-based education model, which focuses on developing the competencies required in the profession, can enhance students' comprehensive qualities and professional abilities.By drawing on the principles of the competency-based education model, the faculty team makes proper adjustments and improvements to the theory courses, internship content, and assessment mechanisms, thus contributing to the improvement of the quality of pharmaceutical internships and the cultivation of excellent pharmaceutical professionals.
