Abstract
An analysis of 5 351 survey responses indicates the following group differences: female students exhibit higher levels of online interpersonal communication activity compared to their male counterparts;individuals with independent and autonomous personalities maintain clearer boundaries in online interactions;and individuals with different vocational personality traits display significant differences in the focus of their online interpersonal interactions. In general, contemporary college students' online communication in virtual contexts demonstrates distinct characteristics in terms of social identity, impression management, prosocial behavior, and deviant online behavior.Educational guidance for college students' online interpersonal communication should emphasize the cultivation of individualized awareness, enhance empathetic understanding in online interactions, and promote self-growth through online communication.
