Construction and Exploration of the General Elective Course Diet and Chemistry in Traditional Chinese Medicine Universities

In line with the requirements and standards for general education at Henan University of Chinese Medicine, and based on the actual situation of the university’s disciplines, this paper constructs the general elective course Diet and Chemistry from five aspects: course objectives, content, teaching strategies, evaluation, and teaching outcomes.The focus is on developing this course as a core general elective.The course aims to cultivate students’ ability for independent thinking, ethical analysis, and critical and constructive thinking, while preserving and promoting the outstanding traditional culture of traditional Chinese medicine.It also aims to guide students in establishing a correct worldview, outlook on life, and values.
